On May 20, 2025, the Tanzania Prisoner Hope Foundation (TPHF) once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to compassion and service by delivering a special donation to Segerea Prison, focused on meeting the needs of children living within the prison environment. This initiative was not only a reflection of generosity—it was a call to action for all who believe in restoring dignity and hope to the most vulnerable.
A Gift of Care and Comfort
Led by TPHF CEO Lucas Mwimo, the team provided a variety of essential items for children, with the total value of the donation amounting to TZS 499,000/=. The contribution was made possible through the collective efforts of TPHF members, with a special additional donation of TZS 50,000/= from Sister Mary Lupakyiso, whose generosity helped expand the reach of the support.
The items donated were carefully selected to address both nutritional and personal care needs, including:

- Infant formula (Lactogen and Al Mudhish)
- Instant porridge (Uji Fasta)
- Diapers (for children weighing 9–15 kg)
- Juice
- Biscuits
- Candy
- Children’s clothing, sweaters, and casual wear
- Kanga wraps
- Toys and games
These items were warmly received by the prison administration and brought smiles to the children and caregivers alike. The donation was accompanied by a receipt for transparency and accountability, reinforcing TPHF’s commitment to ethical service.
A Message of Faith and Generosity
In his message to TPHF members, CEO Mwimo expressed deep gratitude for the spirit of giving that made the outreach possible. He encouraged all members to continue embracing a heart of generosity, reminding them that the needs within prisons—especially among children, detainees, and inmates—remain vast and urgent.
“Let us serve God faithfully so that He may continue to bless our daily efforts,” Mwimo urged.
He also called on those who had not yet contributed their membership dues to do so, emphasizing that every contribution helps meet critical needs and sustain the foundation’s mission.
A Call to Serve

This outreach to Segerea Prison is part of TPHF’s broader mission to uplift and empower marginalized communities, particularly those affected by incarceration. By focusing on children—often overlooked in prison support programs—TPHF is helping to nurture a generation with love, dignity, and hope.
The May 20th donation was more than a charitable act; it was a reminder that service to others is a sacred duty. Through faith, unity, and action, TPHF continues to be a light in places often shrouded in hardship.
